The Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District (District) assists Hamilton County businesses increase recycling and reduce waste management costs through a variety of programs.

Benefits of Recycling

  • Lowers waste disposal costs by reducing the amount of material that is landfilled.
  • Projects a positive corporate image.
  • Conserves energy – Recycling one ton of paper saves 4,100 kilowatts of energy
    (enough to power the average home for six months).
  • Reduces reliance on landfills.
  • Creates jobs - The recycling industry has a total economic impact of 169,000 jobs and
    $6 billion in annual wages, just in the state of Ohio.
