Environmental Compliance Collaborative Informs Local Manufacturers The 2009-2010 season of the Environmental Compliance Collaborative (ECC) kicked off on September 8, 2009, with a presentation on Renewable Energy Strategies for Ohio Businesses. The current status of implementing renewable energy technologies such as geothermal, solar photovoltaic, and wind turbines was presented by Melink Corporation experts. Participants were also given a tour of Melink’s nationally-recognized green building to see these technologies in action. The ECC is a group of local manufacturing representatives that meet regularly to network, obtain information, discuss ideas, and explore solutions to environmental regulatory compliance. Federal, state, and local environmental regulations pertaining to air, water, and hazardous and solid wastes will be discussed by the regulatory agency representatives in a series of upcoming meetings. The ECC's goal is to have better informed manufacturers so regulatory compliance mistakes are avoided. Funding for this program is provided by Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District and the NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Program and is free to all local manufacturers. The ECC meets the second Tuesday of every month from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at TechSolve, Inc. Meetings are open to manufacturers in the Greater Cincinnati area. The schedule of meetings follows:
Meeting topics are selected by ECC participants and are scheduled based on speaker availability. For a confirmed list of meeting topics, please contact Greg Hume with TechSolve at (513) 948-2017. |
