Local Resource for LEED Green Building Rating System Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a third-party certification program and is considered by many to be a nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor air quality.
The U.S.
Green Building Council (USGBC) Cincinnati Regional Chapter is the
local resource for accessing the LEED rating process. If your company is
considering a new building, remodeling office space, or renovating an
existing facility, and you have a mandate to “go green,” tap into wealth of
information available through the USGBC. The Cincinnati chapter website has a wealth of resources including details about local LEED projects; information about local grant, tax and loan incentives; and newsletters focusing on local topics in building design and construction. The Cincinnati Regional Chapter also offers courses for achieving LEED professional certification (for architects and designers).
