Commissioner Todd Portune welcomes everyone to the 2009 Recycling Awards Ceremony. Director Holly Christmann recognizes the District's partners and policy committee members before presenting the awards. Luanne Diffen receives the "Friend of Recycling" award. On behalf of Monfort Heights Elementary, Laura Taphorn accepts the "Outstanding School Recycling Program" award. Cris Cornelssen, teacher at Winton Woods Elementary School, receives the "Outstanding Recycling Educator" award. Sam Dubin, student at Walnut Hills High School, receives the "Student Recycler of the Year" award. On behalf of the City of Blue Ash, Mayor Jack Buckman accepts the "Best Community Recycling Program" award. On behalf of the City of Madeira, Mayor Sarah Evans and Councilman Rick Brasington accept the "Best Community Recycling Program" award. On behalf of the City of Mt. Healthy, Ray Rissel accepts the "Most Improved Community Recycling Program" award. On behalf of Duke Energy Convention Center, General Manager Ric Booth accepts the "Public Recycling" award. On behalf of the Neyer Properties, Dan Neyer accepts the "Go Green Challenge" award. On behalf of Cincinnati Bell, Karol Osinski and Jouett Brenzel accept the "Recycling at Work Program of the Year" award. On behalf of Frame USA, Sam Banta accepts "The Interchange Business of the Year" award. On behalf of the City of Wyoming, Vice Mayor Jim O'Reilly and Jen Eismeier Osier accept the "John Van Volkenburgh Award for Recycling Excellence."
