Welcome
What an exciting year we have had so far! Residential recycling has increased over the last year, participation in District programs is strong, and we launched a redesigned website with a section set aside for community information. In October, a Hamilton County community will be the first in Ohio to initiate RecycleBank with a pilot project in the City of Montgomery. You may also have noticed our outreach campaign promoting recycling with billboards throughout the County, commercial spots on the radio, and ads in the newspaper.
Recently, we received the exciting news that The Home Depot now accepts spent compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL’s) at any of their locations. With more and more residents turning to these energy saving bulbs, the District welcomes this free service for safe disposal. For more information, click here.
In this edition of the WasteLine you will find simple ideas you can use to increase recycling, information about our upcoming Compost Bin Sale and District Priority grant, and an overview of the research we conducted earlier this year. As you can see, we are keeping very busy, but we still would like to hear from you about solid waste issues you may be facing, problem materials that are popping up, or suggestions for new programs. Please give me a call at 946-7705 or to send an email, click here.
As always, thank you for your continued support of recycling.
Sincerely,
