Recycling Tonnages Increase in Hamilton County
Hamilton County communities have done it again! In the first period of 2009 (January 1- June 30), communities increased the tons of residential recycling collected by 115 tons over the same period in 2008.
In total, Hamilton County communities recycled 17,389 tons in the first half of 2009. The communities with the largest increases are listed below:
Evendale 24.42% increase
Greenhills 22.11% increase
Harrison Township 43.60% increase
Miami Township 54.17% increase
Montgomery 43.03% increase
Reading 30.55% increase
Sharonville 17.36% increase
Sycamore Township 22.59% increase
Terrace Park 54.57% increase
In other good news, the total residential waste entering the landfill reduced by five percent in the first period of 2009 compared to the same period in 2008. Congratulations on another successful six months of recycling and reducing waste!
