FALL 2009

Greetings to everyone! This is the Fall 2009 edition of Spencer’s Team News, and it is full of relevant and up-to-date information. It’s the perfect thing to read as you relax on a beautiful, autumn-colored day. Sit back, sip a cup of tea, and enjoy.

Spencer and his friends Keebler and Cher with the Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District (District), have been very busy recruiting new schools to join our Recycling Assistance Program (RAP) and teaching students and adults about recycling throughout the county. At some point recently, you may have seen them at the Cincinnati Flower Show or at Paddle Fest, or at one of the informative teacher workshops that the District sponsored.

Beginning in September, schools that wish to have contracted classroom presentations, field trip sponsorship, or other subsidized programming must be registered with the District’s RAP program. In the past, we have allowed schools to receive subsidized programming and field trips who were not registered in the RAP program in an effort to increase the number of schools that provide recycling.

In addition, we have implemented a two-tier RAP program, Gold level and Silver level, that we feel will meet the needs of schools and create an avenue that will allow schools to recycle at the level that best fits their school goals.

We remain invested in the schools, teachers, and students of Hamilton County, and know that you will remain invested in us and the environmental goals that we all are trying to reach. If you have questions about the District’s programs, contact Keebler at (513) 946-7736.
