This issue brings lots of great opportunities to you and your students, through Classroom Programs, Field Trips, School Assemblies and Workshops–all of which you can read about and sign up for using the links on the left side of this page.

We are happy to tell you about Spencer's Highlights, listed below. In this section, Spencer proudly explains all of the great things that have been happening since the last issue, including two new upcoming contests, reducing waste at your school, updates on the Recycling Assistance Program, how your students can enter the Get-a-Bin Recycling Pledge drawing, great books to check out, and more!

SPENCER'S HIGHLIGHTS

REDUCING WASTE IN OUR COMMUNITY
POSTER AND YOUTUBE VIDEO CONTESTS

The Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District is hosting two exciting contests this spring: an Earth Day Poster Contest and a YouTube Video Contest. Spencer drools when he anticipates all of the creative entries we will receive. Be sure to check it out! Click here for details on both contests.

REDUCE WASTE AT YOUR SCHOOL
Although Spencer likes to bury things, he hopes you and your students are not burying a lot of waste in the landfill. So he came up with a few suggestions for reducing waste in your school. Click here to learn how.

RECYCLING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
How many schools recycle in Hamilton County? What schools have the best programs? Spencer would love to tell you, but since dogs can't speak English, the Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District started the Recycling Assistance Program to answer these questions. Click here for more information.

RECYCLING PLEDGE DRAWING
Spencer hopes you jump all over the opportunity for your students to enter the recycling pledge drawing for a chance to win tickets to a Cincinnati Reds or Bengals game or a class trip to the Cincinnati Zoo. Click here to see how your students can enter to win!

BOOKS UNLEASHED
Of course dogs can't read. But Spencer understands how much his human friends love to read, so he fetched some books he thinks you and your students will enjoy. Click here for book titles.

BITS AND BONES
Spencer dug up some interesting news about our new Education Specialist, Keebler Holley, students taking a stand for reusable flatware, spring cleaning, and a new masters program being offered in renewable energy. Click here to read more.
