Complaint Form
The
complaint program focuses on outreach activities and operating the
air quality hotline. The 24-hour hotline (513-946-7777
or 800-889-0474),
established in 1991, provides prompt service to the air quality
concerns of
residents
in the four-county area of Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren
counties.
The hotline enables residents to call a P&E staff member 24-hours
a day, seven days a week (with the exception of major holidays) to
report any outdoor air quality concerns.
Complaint Procedures
Fill

Air Quality Complaint Form or call 513-946-7777 to report an odor, smoke, dust or other air quality
complaint. The hotline is available 24-hours a day, seven days a
week, excluding major holidays. To report a complaint during regular
business hours, call 513-946-7777 and your call will be answered
by a receptionist from the Hamilton County Department of Environmental
Services (DOES). You will be asked for general information relating
to your complaint, including your name, address and phone number.
You may remain anonymous if you wish.
Next, an investigator from DOES will promptly return your call to
discuss the complaint and to obtain more details about your air
quality concern. The investigator will ask questions such as, when
was the odor/problem first detected, please describe the odor/problem,
what is the intensity of the odor/problem and is the odor/problem
still present.
The investigator will then try to make arrangements to meet at your
home to verify the air quality problem with you. The investigator
will arrive at your home and if the air quality problem is still
present, an attempt will be made to trace the origin/source of the
problem.
Finally, DOES will contact you in the few days following your call
to give you the results of your complaint. If you have any additional
questions or concerns regarding the complaint program or procedure,

If the odor/problem is coming from MSD (a sewer issue), please contact
them directly at 513-244-5500. You can also call MSD's recorded
information line at 513-946-3767 and listen for any problems occurring
at the facility.
