Looking for Entries for 12th Annual Poster Contest
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Recycling and
Litter Prevention (DRLP) is sponsoring the 12th Annual Poster Contest.
The contest is open to students in grades 1-6 and to students in
non-formal settings (after-school programs) in Hamilton County.
Themes are "Litter Prevention in Hamilton County" and "Recycling in
Hamilton County." The artist should represent how litter prevention or
recycling happens in their community or their experience with litter
prevention or recycling at the local level, (i.e. school, home).
Each school should hold their own contest and submit Three entries per
grade level to the Hamilton County Department of Environmental Services
(HCDOES). Teachers coordinating the contest in their school will receive
a DRLP Contest Kit, which includes art supplies such as watercolors,
crayons, pencils, and a whole lot more!
If you wish to enter your school, call Sue Magness at 513-946-7736. The
contest kit, guidelines, and student entry forms will be mailed to you.
Three posters per grade level will advance to state level competition.
All artists whose posters qualify for state judging will receive a
certificate of recognition. State-wide winners will be recognized at a
local ceremony and receive a recycled-content prize.
Deadline to receive school pre-registration kit is Friday, October 11,
2002. Deadline to submit student posters for local judging is Wednesday,
October 23, 2002. Deliver posters or mail to: Sue Magness, HCDOES, 250
