Hamilton County students were highly successful in this year's State Earth Day to Earth Day Poster Contest, sponsored by the
Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Recycling and Litter Prevention and the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. This year two Hamilton County students artwork, concerning the environment and their ideas for protecting it, will be printed on the state-wide distributed poster.
Congratulations to our state
winners, eighth grader, Emily Amber Baldwin, from Bridgetown Middle School, and Danielle Abel, an eleventh grader from Seton High School. Several other Hamilton County students received an honorable mention for their artwork. Emily and Danielle's posters were chosen from over 330 entries submitted from all over Ohio.
Each year, the Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District holds a local poster contest to find entrants to send to the state contest.
After careful consideration, we chose one winning poster from each grade and sent these on to the state contest. We would like to congratulate the students and teachers whose artwork were chosen as the winners in Hamilton County.
Information about the 2003 poster contest will be available in the fall and entries are due in November, 2002
