2002-2003 Earth Day to
Earth Day Poster Contest Entries Wanted
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is sponsoring the 11th Annual 2002-2003 Earth Day to Earth Day Poster Contest. The contest is open to students in grades 1-12 and to students in non-formal settings (after school programs). The themes are: “Make Every Day Earth Day”, “Recycling Saves...”, “Help Lucky the Ladybug Keep Ohio Litter-Free”, “Recycled products have seen it all before”, and “Plant Pride, Not Litter”.
Each school or teacher should hold their own contest and submit one entry per grade level to the Hamilton County Department of Environmental Services. Teachers coordinating the contest in their school will, upon request, receive a poster contest prize package containing recycled-content promotional items such as certificates, t-shirts, frisbees, pens, and/or pencils to award student winners at the school competition level.
Call Sue Magness at (513) 946-7736 for the contest application, guidelines, and to request a prize package for your “school winners”.
One poster per grade level will advance to state level competition. Deliver or mail to: Sue Magness, HCDOES, 250 William Howard Taft Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45219-2660
Deadline to submit posters: Friday, November 9, 2001
