Food Rescue–A Win-Win

Did you ever wonder what happens to all that
meat at the grocery store marked “reduced for quick sale” if it doesn’t
get sold? And what about those savory rotisserie chickens at the end of
the day? It used to be that, if this meat didn’t sell, it had to be hauled
to the landfill. Happily, those days are gone.

Go Green Challenge:
Networking Series Continues
Hear about Cincinnati’s newest LEED
Core & Shell Project at Keystone Parke
The popular Go
Green Challenge educational and networking series will continue on August
6, 2008. Hear about this exciting LEED Project from the developer Neyer
Properties and the broker CB Richard Ellis. After lunch and presentations,
you will be welcome to tour the building and grounds, as well as Neyer’s
new LEED tenant space, with members of the Neyer and CBRE team.

Hamilton County Measures its Footprint with Greenhouse Gas
Inventory Project

The data was collected as part of Hamilton County’s
“Cool Counties” initiative to improve climate stabilization to fight global
warming. Adopted and signed by the Hamilton County Commissioners in September
2007, the initiative aims to unite local, state, and federal governments and
other leaders to reduce county GHG emissions to 80 percent below current levels
by 2050.

“Clean”–A Logical Extension of Lean Manufacturing Principles
In manufacturing, it seems inevitable that by-products, or waste, will be
produced. In fact, using resources that do not lead directly to creating the
product a customer wants when they want it, is waste. Lean manufacturing
systematically identifies and removes waste from all aspects of an
organization's operations.
