Master Composting Class
The Civic
Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati and the Hamilton County
Solid Waste Management District have joined forces to provide
you with three weeks of intensive composting training. Come
and learn about a wide array of topics including where to
locate a compost pile, which type of compost bin is best for
you and how to build it, how and when to turn your compost and
how to incorporate compost into your existing garden. Learn
about the fascinating biology of a compost pile and the cycle
of life that occurs in decomposing organic matter. Attendees
will each build and take home a wire compost bin. Attendees
will also have the option of making and taking a vermi-composting
system for a nominal fee.
This
three-week course is absolutely FREE! All we ask is for you to
take what you learn and pass it on! Fifteen hours of volunteer
service is required to complete the course. Attendees have one
year from the last class to complete their hours. There are a
number of volunteer options to suit your needs and
aspirations! To register, contact
