Hamilton County R3Source and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) offer both large-scale and small-scale grant opportunities to support communities, non-profits, businesses, and schools to initiate or expand waste reduction programs, stimulate economic growth, and support litter prevention efforts.
Hamilton County R3Source Grants
R3Source Infrastructure Grant provides funding for projects $10,000 to $30,000. Proposals are due February 15, 2022. Waste Reduction Innovation Grant provides up to $10,000 funding. Applications are accepted as long as funding is available.

Ohio EPA Grants
The Ohio EPA’s Recycling and Litter Prevention program offers the following large-scale, competitive grants. Proposals are due February 4, 2022.
Community and Litter Grants are available for governments and nonprofits to fund recycling equipment; special venue recycling; contamination reduction; recycling, tire amnesty, and litter surveillance/clean-up programs.
Academic Institution Grants provides funding for K-12 schools, colleges, and universities to purchase recycling equipment (including composting equipment); special venue recycling; scrap tire civil engineering/construction projects; outreach; and education.
Scrap Tire Grants help governments and non-profits to complete beneficial use projects that incorporate ground tire rubber in civil engineering/construction projects.
